The Sought-After Operator Challenge | School of Operations

Free live challenge · 21, 22 & 23 September 2026

The Sought-After Operator Challenge

You are already good at this. Across three live sessions we will look at what it takes to become the person a founder trusts with the decisions that really matter, and how that capability turns into better scope, positioning and pricing.

Three live sessions. 6pm UK time (London) each day. Around 45 minutes per session. Live online with limited-time replays, wherever you are joining from.

Save my place

Free to attend. Come along if you are a VA, OBM or operations manager, if you sit inside an operations team, or if you are moving into operations from a corporate or employed role.

The three days

Day one · Mon 21 Sept What makes an operator valuable
Day two · Tue 22 Sept Learn to see the business differently
Day three · Wed 23 Sept Position, scope and price yourself accordingly

You can already sense there is a level above the one you are working at

You are good at this, and the people around you know it. Perhaps you are running projects, launches and delivery for the businesses you support, and they lean on you a little more every month. Perhaps you have spent years in a corporate role holding a programme or a department together, and you are now looking at online operations and thinking that is where you belong.

Either way, you know how to plan, prioritise and keep things moving when other people are panicking. That is a real professional skill and it deserves saying out loud.

And there is still a conversation happening just above you. Decisions made before anyone thinks to ask what you think. Problems handed over already diagnosed, when you can see the diagnosis is wrong. You want to be in that conversation, because you know you would have something worth saying in it.

That is what we will spend these three days on, and you would be very welcome.

Becoming sought-after is a capability question long before it becomes a marketing one

There is a lot of advice out there telling operators to change their title, package a premium retainer and charge with more confidence.

Positioning and pricing genuinely do matter, and we will spend proper time on both across these three days. We will be specific about how they work, because vague encouragement has never helped anybody put a number on a proposal.

What we will also be honest about is the limit of what any of that can do on its own. Your positioning can only sustainably promise what your capability can deliver, and a founder tends to work out quite quickly whether the person in front of her can hold the responsibility she is thinking of handing over.

So the question we are answering together is not how to look more strategic. It is what operating at that level actually asks of you, and how growing into it changes what you can be paid for.

You become sought-after by developing the capability to operate at that level

What we will cover

Three sessions, and three practical tools you can use the same week

Day oneMonday 21 September, 6pm

What makes an operator valuable

We will look at why value and job title come apart so often, using the Responsibility and Value Ladder to map the levels operational work can be performed at.

Then we will look at the capabilities that let someone move between those levels, across operational skill, strategic and commercial thinking, and leadership. We will also talk honestly about what AI is changing, and which human capabilities become more valuable rather than less as the execution layer of this profession shifts.

Your takeaway The Sought-After Operator Skills and Value Audit

A structured way to see the level you are working at, the capability limiting your progression, and what you could confidently take responsibility for once you have developed it.

Day twoTuesday 22 September, 6pm

Learn to see the business differently

A founder tells you the team is underperforming and asks you to fix it. Another says they need more leads. A third is certain the answer is a new CRM. Most people start solving. What we will practise instead is asking whether that is actually the problem.

You will get an introduction to the Vision Matrix Method, one of the methodologies we teach inside the Online Operations Certification. We will work through how to understand where a founder is genuinely trying to take the business, how to look at the operation as a connected system, how to find the real gap, and how to decide which problems deserve attention first when you can see twenty things that could be improved.

Your takeaway The Mini Vision Matrix Toolkit

Founder vision questions, a business health scan, a strategic question bank to use before you jump to a solution, and a simple method for prioritising operational problems.

Day threeWednesday 23 September, 6pm

Position, scope and price yourself accordingly

Getting better at your job does not automatically mean the market will pay you more for it, and that gap is a frustrating place to sit. The third day is about closing it.

We will look at how to talk about the value of operational work rather than listing the tasks you can perform, and map what changes across responsibility, decision-making, founder access, risk and business impact as work moves from task-based support to operational ownership to fractional operational leadership. Then we will get specific about pricing. Sneha will walk through example scopes and talk you through how she would think about pricing each one, and what genuinely moves work from £1,000 a month to £3,000 a month and beyond.

Your takeaway The Sought-After Operator Offer Plan

A working document to shape the role you are moving towards, the problems you want to become known for solving, how your work should be scoped and priced, and what you still want to develop to deliver at that level credibly.

By the end of the three days

  • You will know which level you are currently working at and how far your responsibility currently reaches.
  • You will have found the specific capability holding your progression, rather than a vague sense that you should be doing something more.
  • You will have a practical method for looking at a business, which you can use on a real one this week.
  • You will understand how scope, responsibility and risk determine what operational work is worth, and be able to look at your own situation with clearer eyes.
  • You will have a plan for what to develop next, and a much better sense of how capable you already are.
you are closer than you think

Come along if this sounds like you

  • You are working as a VA, OBM, operations manager or freelance operator and you want to grow into more
  • You sit inside an operations team and want to take on more responsibility where you are
  • You are coming from a corporate role in project management, administration, EA or operations and moving into online operations, either into a role or into something of your own
  • You want founders to value your thinking as much as your delivery
  • You want to understand businesses at a deeper level than the function or tools you manage
  • You are thinking about scope, positioning or pricing and want commercial reasoning rather than encouragement
  • You want your skillset to hold its value as AI changes operational work

If you are somewhere between two of those, you will still get a great deal out of it. The thinking travels.

Who you will be learning from

Sneha Morjaria, founder of School of Operations

Sneha Morjaria is the founder of School of Operations and the creator of the Online Operations Certification, the CPD-accredited programme that trains and certifies online operations managers.

She built it because she kept meeting people who were doing genuinely complex operational work without anyone ever having taught them the strategic and commercial side of it. There was plenty of training on tools, and plenty of business coaching, and very little in between that treated operations as a profession worth developing properly.

She teaches every cohort herself, writes the case studies students work through and gives feedback on their thinking personally, because reading about how to look at a business is a long way from sitting in front of a real one and deciding what to do about it. These three sessions will be taught the same way.

Three days that change how you think about your value

21, 22 and 23 September 2026, 6pm UK time (London) each day. Around 45 minutes per session, live online. Replays will be available for a limited time, so you can still take part if the timing is awkward where you are.

Free to attend, and the tools are yours to keep.

Anything you are wondering

Do I need to attend live?

Live is where you will get the most out of it, because you will be working through your takeaway as we go and there will be space to ask questions. Sessions run at 6pm UK time (London), and if that is difficult where you are, a replay will be available for a limited time so you can catch up.

How much time do I need?

Around 45 minutes per session, plus a little time to work through each takeaway. Nothing needs preparing in advance.

Will this work if I am employed rather than working with several businesses?

Yes. The levels of responsibility and the way we look at a business apply whether you sit inside one company full time, work with several, or are part of an operations team.

I am moving into operations from a corporate role. Is it still for me?

Very much so. A lot of the people we work with came from project management, administration, EA or operations roles in larger organisations and are now moving into online operations, either into a role or into something of their own. You will be able to use these three days to work out how the experience you already have translates, and what to build on next.

Is this going to be a three day sales pitch?

The teaching is the point. We will talk about the Online Operations Certification, because it is the structured route through everything we cover, and you will hear more about it at the end. Whatever you decide about that, the tools you leave with are yours.

What happens after I register?

You will get a confirmation email with your joining details and calendar links, plus a short note from us before each session.
